Livebluegrass.net to Launch with Online Festival on June 9

Livebluegrass.net will be launching its free, on-demand concert site with an "Online Festival" on June 9. The premiere event will include multiple sets by Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band, the Plate Scrapers, and Marv Ashby & High Octane. The "Online Festival" will be available starting at 12 a.m. (ET) on June 9 and will remain available on-demand. Livebluegrass.net is free for listeners and does not require registration.

Livebluegrass.net focuses on providing quality concerts to fans of live bluegrass. The bands participating in the "Online Festival" were chosen based on their high level concert experience and fan following.

"The show offers something for everyone," Stoney Creek's Libby Files recently told the Journal in Martinsburg, West Virginia. "We try to put on a show that will entertain any music fan, even if they don't consider themselves a bluegrass fan."

Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band has been named "mainstream bluegrass at its best" by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine, and "West Virginia's classic bluegrass band" by Around the Panhandle magazine.

The Plate Scrapers are described by the Frederick Playlist music site as "one of the premiere Americana/bluegrass acts in and around the state of Maryland." The Brewgrass Chronicles praised the band for its "solid vocals and a strong stage presence."

"We have a lot of original material," the Plate Scrapers' Derek Kretzer told the Herald Mail last year in Hagerstown, Maryland. "And we have a lot of traditional-type bluegrass we play from the popular bluegrass bands of the past and some of the present, and a mix of some covers." Kretzer said that the Plate Scrapers' audience is "all over the map. During the summer, we play a lot of outdoor festivals and large events so we kind of have everyone at these events."

Marv Ashby & High Octane offers a "hard-driving mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass, which features Marv's aggressive flat-picking style and straight-ahead vocal arrangements," according to WDVX FM in Knoxville, Tennessee. The band promises that fans can expect "a quality and fast-moving show" with "first-generation bluegrass drive and enthusiasm."

Livebluegrass.net is looking for more bands to add in the future. Recommendations can be sent to livebluegrassnet@gmail.com
